Liz Jakimow is a nature photography who lives in the beautiful valley of Araluen, Australia. Her photos have appeared on monopoly boards, Lonely Planet Guides, literary magazines and exhibitions.
After losing a loved one, Liz set herself the task of taking just one photo a day. Those photos, along with poetry written during the same period, came together in an exhibition and book titled 'A journey with grief: exploring loss through photography and poetry'. The exhibition was held at the Australian Centre for Christianity and Culture in Barton, Canberra and at the Braidwood Regional Arts Group.
Liz prefers to take photos of the small details within nature. Her photos are usually minimalistic, and often black and white.
As well as taking photos as a hobby, Liz works as the communications officer for the Australian Centre for Christianity and Culture, where she often is the photographer for various events. She also occasionally does work as a wedding or event photographer. She also helps out with photography, graphic design and communications at her parish church, St Andrew's Anglican Church in Braidwood.
She is a committed Christian and has a Bachelor of Theology from St Mark's National Theological Centre.
Liz is also a writer and poet, and her work has appeared in various publications. For details of where her work has appeared or to see examples of her work, go to the Creative Communication Portfolio page.
